Liz Muange is a development finance specialist with over 15 years experience. Among others, she worked in the ICRC as an Innovative Finance Adviser leading new technical and funding partnerships for large urban infrastructure projects across fragile and conflict settings. Prior to joining the ICRC, she was working in different blended finance programmes focused on urban infrastructure development at municipality level, regional trade within and across Africa with the US and agriculture development in Africa. She has experience working with various donor funded programmes with USAID, FCDO, EU and the Dutch government.
Over the last 10 years she has helped facilitate more than 500 million$ in blended finance investments to both private companies and public institutions. She has experience working in various partnership models i.e the humanitarian – development nexus, the development – private sector nexus and public – private partnership models.
She is an alumni member of the Global Future Council Cities of Tomorrow of the World Economic Forum, former vice curator of the Global Shapers Nairobi hub and served on the Board of the Leo Africa Institute and has served in various advisory and investment committees. She has spoken at various global events on the topics of innovative financing and impact investing and participated in the World Economic Forum Events (Davos, WEF Africa), the UN Water Conference 2023, Humanitarian Finance Forum Events (Aidex), World Water Week, AGRF, Sankalp Africa amongst many others.
