The BMU-funded project, Protected areas and other area-based conservation measures at local government level, was implemented in partnership with ICLEI and GIZ from 2016 to 2020. Through capacity building, policy support and communications, the project supported local governments in Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru to conserve biodiversity through the effective and equitable management of protected areas and other area-based conservation measures.
