URBES – Urban Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services

URBES – Urban Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services

The URBES project ran from 2012 to 2015 and aimed to bridge the knowledge gap on urbanisation processes and the ecosystem services that sustain cities. It described innovative ways to integrate monetary and non-monetary nature valuation techniques in urban landscapes and delivered a professional training programme to cities across Europe. IUCN’s role in this project was to influence policy through extensive communication and capacity building in partnership with ICLEI.
