We envisage a world in which nature thrives in urban areas providing solutions to multiple environmental, social and economic challenges.

In our initial phase of development (2019-2021), we are working towards three objectives:  

1. To create a platform for debate and knowledge exchange on urban dimensions of nature conservation; 
2. To catalyze new projects and partnerships for greener cities; and 
3. To develop an ‘Urban Nature Index’ to measure change and drive action.  

To achieve these goals, we are collaborating with a range of IUCN constituents – Members, Commissions, National Committees and Secretariat Units.
